You stated that the school is respectful of religious orientations.
Is it affiliated with a religion? Just what do you mean by Honor Code anyway?

No, the school is not affiliated with any particular religious orientation. It goes beyond tolerating different religious views and their underlying value structure to showing respect.  We do this by officially recognizing their major holy days. We currently have two major holidays from Christianity, Judaism, and Muslim faiths in addition to regular federal holidays. Additional holidays can be added if students of a different faith join the community. Furthermore The Renaissance Preparatory Academy has Honor Codes which guide behavior and will be recited when every the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States is recited (typically daily or during our Honor Courts).

As a Renaissance Scholar and a member of The Renaissance Preparatory Academy community, I agree to think before I act. My actions reflect on my family and my school community.

I am honorable and courageous. I have integrity and do what I say I will do until it is completed. I do it when I say I will do it, and to the best of my ability. I will not stand by and allow others to act wrongly, unjustly, or discourteously. I find cheating, stealing, plagiarizing, fighting, bullying, and avoiding work, dishonorable, and will not do them myself and will stand up for what is right and report others doing them.

I am courteous and respectful.  I act with integrity and treat others with dignity even when I disagree with them. When I play games and sports, I act with sportsmanship. When I communicate with others, I seek first to listen and understand and then to present my views. When I interact with others; I act with chivalry and charity. I find ways to include others in my activities by seeking them out and inviting them or welcoming them when they ask to join.

I am curious and creative. When I explore a new topic, I learn as much about it as I can. If I need help, I ask; if I can help, I offer. I know that failure is an indication of stretching to learn and so I learn and try again. I do not make the same mistake twice. When I create fine arts, I practice early, long, and hard; so that my final efforts are the best that I can make them. When I am faced with a problem, I apply my learning and creativity to solving it.

I value character, communicating, chivalry, learning, creating, and working or playing to the best of my ability. I persist until I reach my goals. I am a Renaissance Scholar.
