Parents and Friends,
We thought that we had missed all of the illnesses going around town this winter because now it is spring! BUT... with 67% of our faculty and staff sick with fevers and heavy colds this Monday and 50% of the student body coughing last Friday, we will have to have a School Sick day today.

Parents were notified of this on Sunday but we wanted to be sure that all would be aware that classes will not be held today Monday, April 30th while we sanitize the school and hopefully allow our RPA community to recuperate!

We will be open again tomorrow for classes!

Ms. Delaney, Headmaster of the Renaissance Preparatory Academy, announced that the private school is now accepting registrations for a new 4K program. “4K enrollment is optional and not required according to South Carolina law (https://ed.sc.gov/how-do-i/pre-k-kindergarten/). Parents have been asking for a 4-year old admission. We are so happy to announce this program.” The school operates using a multi-age classroom structure and

both admits and promotes students year round as students reach either an age to enter or mastery of fundamentals. A class day from 8 am to 4 pm allows for ninety minutes of recess, training in life skills, and an advanced academic focus. “The accelerated academic opportunities that are a feature of our school extend into the 4K program as well. We encourage personal growth at a challenging pace. Ms. Delaney assures parents.  “Our 4K program allows children who turn 4 during a term to enroll at the beginning of the term. This means that children who turn 4 before July, or sometime during July - September may enroll if we have space and the child is developmentally ready.” The school is a non-profit non-religious school with a strong honor code, accelerated academics and uniforms. Tuition costs just a few dollars more a day than day care. The school meets at The Hall at St. John’s which is centrally located in the Grand Strand. Its been a busy second week. You may have received our text broadcast about Monday's holiday! We then had a late start on Thursday to allow for black ice to melt for our faculty and students since they come from both the north and south areas of the Grand Strand!

We are off an on our way to the far reaches of the solar system! Poor Pluto has been found to be relegated to only a planetoid and not a planet... so sad! More next week!
