PrePrimary Entrance Requirements

Our PrePrimary class is a class for new or non-reading students.
It covers material from both Kindergarten and 1st grade.

The class when entered as a 4-year old kindergarten student is a three-year class with the same teacher. Children move on to the Primary class once they are strong readers and there is space available.

HOW TO ENROLL

Three Aspects for Entrance to the PrePrimary Class.

Age For Entry

Students must be at least 4 years old by the end of the term in which they wish to enroll .  Recall that in our school, students advance in grades as they master the skill of the previous grade. Students who enter "off" the official start of the school year will still make progress as they learn and grow.

Completed Application

Each student should have his/her own application packet completed and submitted. Click on the picture of the application packet above to down load one to complete. It includes parental observations, preschool or current teacher observations, transcripts, and, if taken, standardizes test results. If the student is not yet a writer, the student can dictate their answers to the parent transcriber.

Interview/ Placement Tests

After the application packet and fee have been submitted, you'll be contacted for an interview and placement tests. We just want to be sure that your child is correctly in a particular grade and to introduce them to the school and classroom. It isn't anything to stress over but do talk with your child about how they will visit the school and meet some of the teachers there. We'll be waiting to welcome you two to our community!

Please note that young students entering our kindergarten programs must meet developmental standards.
