Do the Discounts make a difference? ![]() Ok, we use discounts and not scholarships. So, if you have an average child, will they make a difference for your payment at The Renaissance Preparatory Academy's fees and tuition? We created a page to share just how much of a difference they can make for the enrollment of an average child and using as many of the discounts as the family's conditions make them eligible to take. In our examples, we found that for a single child family, the basic discounts can save a family between $1000 and $1200. For a two student family, those savings start just about $2000 and top out close to $3300. Yes, the discounts do make a difference when they can be layered so that you can take advantage of all that apply. These examples did not include some of the more specialized discounts possible. Your family might even save more! If you are interested in enrolling your child, email Renaissance.Headmaster@gmail.com or use our contact page and send a message with your phone number so that we can set up an exploratory appointment for you and your family! New Form for Open Houses! ![]() Our general open houses have morphed into a smaller more friendly setting of the homes of those interested in the school where we meet with them and their friends who might also be interested. This forum was suggested due to our promotional discount of "BEST FRIENDS". In that discount, two families who enroll at the same time both can receive a $500 discount on their oldest child's annual tuition. Checking to determine if the kids are best friends, frankly, will result in different results each time as children often change best friends... Sooo.... we agreed with our contacting families that we could come out and talk about the school and its programs in their living room to a group of their friends. If folks, signed up or signed in and signed up later, we would still award the "BEST FRIENDS" discount. You can take advantage of this and the other discounts in a cumulative way by acting before the middle of August. Drop us a line today to schedule your "Open House" session by emailing Renaissance.Headmaster@gmail.com. Has your child transformed from a happy baby to someone pensive to one who struggles with school? Perhaps the reason is in their educational environment. Not every child flourishes in a traditional classroom.
![]() Try The Renaissance Preparatory Academy even if your youngster is more into swinging rather than reading! There are daily recesses: morning, afternoon and an hour at lunchtime! Recess is an unstructured play/networking time (we like to call it our social interaction lab time). Whether your child is the smallest, most active, kindergarten student or an oh-so-sophisticated ninth-grader, unstructured time is very important, so all classes have recesses! It is important for learning social interactions, for remembering that it is important to be active, and to just have some fun. When you need a school sensitive to your child’s need to move, interact with others, or the great outside, we are your school. Don’t worry, we won’t let you child move on without learning the academics, too! They are just more ready to do so, with recess in the curriculum. Costs? $700/month up through 3rd grade and $812.50/month 4th to 9th (not counting any discounts). Enrollment is limited so, take advantage of it being in July and enroll now for either the August or October starts. Children may enroll in any term of the year and are promoted when they demonstrate the skills of their current grade. Email Renaissance.Headmaster@gmail.com today to schedule an enrollment interview and site visit! Is your 4 year old reading? The PrePrimary class at The Renaissance Preparatory Academy is for you!7/21/2017 ![]() At The Renaissance Preparatory Academy, our PrePrimary class has Kindergarten through 1st grade, so someone entering who is already reading has friends who will be about the same reading level. Our reading and language arts program enables even those with mild dyslexia to move more than a year’s expected level of learning in one year (1st graders tend to read at almost a 3rd grade level! Entering 1st graders reading at the 1.5 or higher level are enrolled in our Primary class.) For just $1 an hour more on average than day care, your child is in a strongly supportive environment to help them stay on track to being a strong reader while growing in all areas of their lives. All while having fun and working hard. Children 5 years-old by September 1st can enroll in the August 23rd Traditional Start term. Children 5 years old by October 15th can enroll in the October 2nd Fall Term! Children 5 years old by October 16 will enroll in the January 8 Winter term. Basically, once your child turns 5, school enrollment, at the Renaissance Preparatory Academy, is available no more than 2 months away! Well, enrollment does depend upon space being available. Don’t wait, apply for a seat in the PrePrimary class or any of our classes today! Email Renaissance.Headmaster@gmail.com today! ![]() “I’m bored!” whines your child. What is he or she actually saying? According to research they are saying that they are perceiving that a task has little or no value to them, or it is too easy. Boredom is an unpleasant emotion that is composed of a lack of stimulation and a lack of physiological arousal (psychology speak here). Basically it means that whatever is going on isn’t engaging your child either mentally or physically. Occasionally, they may find a task too difficult and that can mean that the lack of engagement comes from the child not from the task. At school, this results in poor academic performance (Pekrun, Goetz, Daniels, Stupnisky, & Perry, 2010). Discounts not Scholarships and why... ![]() We all like to get the best value for our money and in the private school world that means starting with quality education. At the Renaissance Preparatory Academy, you do receive great value for your tuition dollar. That only means that getting scholarships or discounts to reduce that is even better! We do have some need based scholarships available and if you can qualify for a needs based scholarship check it out. However, many people who want the best education for their child or children are caught between a rock and a hard place. They don't qualify for need based tuition and yet having some tuition relief is wanted. Don't despair! This is why we have discounts! Discounts and coupons reduce tuition costs without raising personal income of the families taking advantage of them. We have several great discounts and/or coupons available. Our newest discount is $500 off annual tuition for families that live in certain neighborhoods in the Grand Strand area. Check out our list and if your development is not on there, you just need to obtain a letter from the developer or your homeowner association welcoming you and you can still get it! This may be used in conjunction with many of our other discounts as well! Stop by and visit me at the school's facility, The Hall at St. Johns where they provide the facility for our secular non-profit school! Take the opportunity to secure a space for your child or children now, since enrollment is first come first served. Scholarship and discounts available for qualified families (many have criteria other than just need based). I thought it might be nice to quickly review our journey to starting to date. While we haven’t named each blog or post with its link to a stage, now is the time to connect the two. ![]() In 2016, a survey by the Council for American Private Education indicated that millennial parents were strongly interested in private schools. Over 43% of Millennials indicated that, if finances and transportation were not an issue, they believed that a private school would provide the best education for their children and that is where they would enroll them. Current college freshmen are talking about the lack of a love for learning in their public school experience, noticing deficiencies in their educational background, and are planning to send their future kids to small private schools (See article at http://blog.cedarhillprep.com/millenials-prefer-small-private-schools-for-their-children ). Yes, you have to pay tuition at a private school; but Millennials more and more believe that the tuition fees are worth it given you can place your child in a culture that supports your values especially those related to developing a love for learning. Supporting engaged students who have a love for learning is a part of our world view here at The Renaissance Preparatory Academy. Check out our website, www.RenaissancePrepMB.org! In 2015, Michael Godsey wrote an article, “Why I am a public school teacher but a private school parent: It’s not selling out; it’s buying in.” He asserted that what |
